Professional Career:

He began his professional career at UNGRIA´s Madrid office in 1980, within the Legal Department. Subsequently, he was appointed as Director of the Trademark Department and, from 1985 to 2001, as Director of the Legal Department. Later on, he worked for different law firms specializing in Intellectual Property as General Director and Director of the Legal Department. In 2019, he rejoined UNGRIA as Director of the International Legal Department.

With 40 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property and related activities, he has led multiple legal proceedings regarding Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs, Piracy, Unfair Competition, Trade Secrets, Domain Names and Copyright, both in Spain and in other jurisdictions.

He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of the Official Association of Intellectual Property Agents (since 2008) and President of the Board of Directors (since 2015).

He has participated as a professor of the Summer Courses at Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Santander (2016); Professor of the Master's Degree in Intellectual Property at Universidad Autónoma of Madrid (2016 and 2017); Professor at Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) of the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid in its annual courses on Administrative Management of Intellectual Property; Professor of the training courses for the Intellectual Property Agent exam (COAPI); and Member of the Court for admittance to the profession of Intellectual Property Agent (SPTO) in 2011 and 2013.

He has been a speaker at multiple conferences and seminars, both in Spain and abroad, organized by different entities (Chambers of Commerce, Business Associations, Universidad del País Vasco, Universidad de Elche, ESADE, Spanish Episcopal Conference, Association des Conseils de l´Industrie (Paris), EPOPIC, and THOMSON-ARANZADI), among others. He has also published many articles in the field of Intellectual Property. It is worth mentioning that he participated in the drafting of the new Spanish Patent Law and the amended Trademark Law.

Member of the Madrid Bar Association, COAPI, AIPPI, INTA, LES, and other IP associations. Moreover, he actively participates in numerous IP international congresses.
