The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO) has opened on August 25, 2026, a Public Consultation for Contributions No. 02/2026 to gather input on regulatory options concerning the registration of electronic games in Brazil.

The initiative is particularly relevant for the growing Brazilian games industry and raises important Intellectual Property questions regarding the protection and registration of different elements associated with electronic games.
The consultation is part of the regulatory impact assessment process and seeks contributions from stakeholders to support the development of a more predictable and appropriate regulatory framework for electronic game registration in Brazil.
